Experience completely dependent on GM - Crew Chipotle Employee Review

Pros

Got to work with some very genuine, down-to-earth crew folks in an environment where we all truly supported one another. Its mission, practices and food quality are commendable. There's an emphasis on being fair and generous with customers. There is basically no limit on free food during shifts, and a 50 percent discount when you're not working.

Cons

The turnover, as elsewhere in the fast-food industry, is horrendous. Coworkers are great, but the managers are overbearing, micromanaging, unprofessional, and often extremely condescending – to the point that they drove most of the talented individuals away. I've been asked to work on my break (which, even in the context of "hey could you hand me that," is still illegal and abusive). Crew members are expected to memorize and recite handouts of essential employee characteristics, as well as customer service fundamentals, which I found rather degrading. These stores want cogs; not intelligent, thoughtful people. If you are one of the latter, you will burn out.

Pros

Free food for breaks, young team, not many crazy customers compared to other fast food restaurant chains

Cons

Always short-staffed at night and double the work from the mornings, the manager has to close multiple positions alone, with insufficient and poor training because God forbid you clock in to learn how to work best.
