Pros
Great pay and excellent benefits, even as an employee in a support group (i.e. not a technical/engineer type). Opportunities for moving around the company and changing positions often when oil price is high.
Cons
Limited ability to influence the new jobs you are given, as all new assignments are managed moves dictated by functional personnel committees. Lack of strategic direction from upper level/executive management. Promotion of yes-man types instead of employees with strong opinions and ideas.
