Don't make friends of coworkers. Self defense to harassment When a coworker was verbally harassing me because i care for my dementia, diabetic, and incontinent elderly parents 5 to 6 hours a day and working full time, I was crying and hyperventilating. I tried to walk away, but he followed me continuing to harass me. I yelled for help from the pharmacy. But before they came up, I threw a bottle of water at the floor while yelling for him to stop. The pharmacist looked at me like I was crazy while my attacker was telling him that I was attacking him. I was terminated for workplace harassment. I was told what I did was against the Heart at Work policy. The story here is don't make friends at CVS. If this does happen, walk right out the door. Don't trust the managers. My attacker uses illegal marijuana to control his anxiety while at work. The managers both said they were aware that he does. I'm not a marijuana user but I think he was tweeking out at work. He still works there but I'm now adding getting a job along with my very trying daily schedule with my parents who don't have medicaid.
