Depending on the store it can be a great learning experience. Definitley a good job for people newly entering the workforce. Since CVs sells a very diverse amount of products you'll learn how to handle everything from perfume to printer ink and stamps! Shifts can be as simple as 4 hours. Great job to put on a resume for those seeking customer service expierience. THrough stocking shelves you can familiarize yourse,f with all the latest products in medicine and bauty which is great if you plan on going to another store for employment like walgreens or Rite-Aid. Its really a good jack-of-all-trades type of store. A perfect stepping stone.
Cons
THe biggest downside is the inconsistency of staff among stores. One store may be overstaffed and another oculd be understaffed. And your success is really dependent on how well you get along with your fellow employees and the chemistry of the store. Another downside to working there is that there are many highschool age kids there. For many it is their first job so they don't often take initiative and don't care to educate themselves on the workings of the store so be prepared to work harder on shifts with kids. The wage too is a problem for those looking to make a living from working there. Deoending on the area the starting wage is very poor and hours can be hard to come by. It can be difficult to become a full time employee if you are not a manager. You can certainly get paid more at other similar stores. And because it is a Pharmacy be prepared to deal with many cranky seniors and sick people!
