CDW is a good launch pad - Account Executive CDW Employee Review

Pros

It is a pretty good job. The downfalls are that advancement can be a little slow at first. As with any sales job, this is to be expected. Once you do put in some hard work, and time, things will begin clicking. Also, the compensation is good for a job fresh out of college.

Cons

The downsides are that management may be a little disconnected at times. Also, the copmany tries cheering up disgruntled employees not by helping with problem, but by buying them things. This shows they are only interested in temporary solutions. Although this puts a bandaid on the situation, it does nothing for long-term morale.

Pros

We all help each other to win unlike any other organization I've worked for. I've never seen an organization support their "coworkers" like CDW has. Management is excellent, supportive and not breathing down our neck but of course have expectations. Leadership is visible. The other day I got off the elevator and the CEO, Chris Leahy, was there which startled me to the point I didn't have words for her. Just be prepared to engage with variety of people often and you'll be successful here.

Cons

None at the moment. I could always get more pay but not real cons. If I owned a business, I'd model it after CDW in part.

Pros

You have the ability to sell full stack solutions, services and software.

Cons

I have worked at CDW for 10yrs and every single year they have changed the comp plan in a way that makes it harder for sellers to make money (constantly moving the goal post). Prior to 2020 CDW had little to no lay offs now it is happening every six months. They say the reasons is to reduce cost and improve efficiencies BUT as a company our sales continue to grow along with the C-levels pockets.
