Pros

FDOT Employees are Super Nice People! CAI is Your Employer/ Contractor Unfortunately!

Cons

Low Entry Level Pay with No Annual Rate Increases, Managed by people who are a Hot Mess, Old Recycled Uniforms, (CHEAP) Company they are a Contractor for FDOT. Safety equipment is really Shady out of date, if you want to climb on top of the turnpike and risk your life for what they make at McDonald’s that’s what you will get!

Pros

- Opportunity to work on interesting, high-impact projects. - Flexible work environment that supports work/life balance. - Many talented and knowledgeable colleagues across the organization.

Cons

- Leadership dynamics can feel misaligned, particularly when less experienced teams are driving decisions that impact more tenured professionals. - Career growth feels unclear and, at times, unattainable without the "right" visibility or relationships. - Cross-functional friction is common, and navigating disagreement does not always feel supported or safe. - Compensation and advancement do not consistently reflect market expectations or individual contributions. - Organizational priorities can feel disconnected from the day-to-day experience of employees.
