Pros

The discount and product knowledge are the only reasons to consider a job at Best Buy. Cost plus 5% make cables and accessories almost free. Being first in line to buy extreme discounted items is a big plus also but you'll have to haggle with hostile management for any type of deal.

Cons

Management. Best Buy's management is a joke. Managers spend the majority of any shift standing by the front door chatting with each other. Occasionally they'll take a moment to micro manage a task. Management is reactionary to an extreme, often times ignoring problems and expectations until the day before or of a district staff visit. General managers are almost completely disconnected from staff creating an environment of distrust. It is fitting that the most passionate Best Buy employees are the overpaid and under-worked management teams.

Pros

-It's a job that is available in most locations.

Cons

-The company, on a corporate level, doesn't seem to grasp the value of the talent they have. - Close ties with Citibank subvert the importance of product knowledge, customer service, and revenue for credit card sales. - Daily Performance check-ins are overbearing and myopic. - Tends to burnout motivated employees with false carrots and hollow promises. - Pay's terrible, and rides the line of predatory at times.
