Pros
You can earn great money in management but be prepared to earn it in blood, sweat, and tears - literally. If you are lucky to work in a store that has a great team that makes it a lot of fun. Good discount and benefits.
Cons
Most political retailer I have ever worked for. You are only as good as your latest scorecard - and everything is on a scorecard. For a non commission sales force the pressure is extreme. The freedom to really treat employees like individuals is extremely limited. Everything is controlled to availabilities of your team to your methods of recognition. If it doesn't meet company plan forget it. Stores do not reflect the communities and if you are a minority of any kind you have no future unless you have the right connections. Mediocre managers often survive and there is a lot of bias even at the General Manager level.
