Pros

Great place to work, with flexibility, interesting projects, good and smart people, good exposure to senior stakeholders internally and externally. Entrepreneurial culture. BTS is truly a great place to work, start or continue a career in Consulting. I would recommend it, eyes closed.

Cons

Hours can be long, and compensations are below market, regardless of your position. Limited opportunities to grow when the business isn't performing at its best (shareholders focus vs. retaining people). Internal politics is high - you often get promoted because of the top accounts you receive, not always because of the behaviours and changes you drive in the company.

Cons

In the 2 times I have worked for BTS I have been misled on the environment/situation I would be working in. Which has led to serious issues. The first time, I was recruited I moved my family across the country for a position that had 16 turnovers over a 2 year period due to the toxic government leadership. I was not given any heads up and was put in a seriously challenging position for both my career and financial wellbeing. The second time I took a job with BTS, I was told the contract had just been awarded for 5 years. However, once I arrived, again having moved my family across the country, I found out the contract was on a 6 month extension. There are other issues on the administrative side, and all I will recommend is to document everything. You WILL need the proof sometime down the road. All in all, I would say at times BTS was good, but mostly they operate in the morally gray to keep that top line up. Was fired over voicemail, for not working overtime (just working a standard 40 hour work week at night!) while I was recovering from the flu. No notice, no conversation, just canned. If management had taken a moment to speak with me, I could have provided email proof I had approval to take a slight step back while I and my family all recovered from the flu.
