Pros

BTS is a supportive culture, both client and employee focused. The team enjoys celebrating successes, and reinforcing both people leadership and business performance. The leadership team is charismatic, pragmatic, sociable and committed to the art of intelligent, savvy consulting. The seven years I spent at BTS spring boarded my career. I am currently leading the Leadership Development organization at one of the largest construction companies of the world, and attribute many of my professional successes to the design and facilitation skills I gained at BTS.

Cons

BTS is a relatively small company, so there's no place to hide if you're not committed to your teams and act in a respectful and professional manner to your peers, management and clients. On the other hand, if you deliver results, enjoy working on small teams and are interested in a career in high-stakes consulting, with significant interaction with executives and leader of F100 companies, this is the place for you!

Cons

In the 2 times I have worked for BTS I have been misled on the environment/situation I would be working in. Which has led to serious issues. The first time, I was recruited I moved my family across the country for a position that had 16 turnovers over a 2 year period due to the toxic government leadership. I was not given any heads up and was put in a seriously challenging position for both my career and financial wellbeing. The second time I took a job with BTS, I was told the contract had just been awarded for 5 years. However, once I arrived, again having moved my family across the country, I found out the contract was on a 6 month extension. There are other issues on the administrative side, and all I will recommend is to document everything. You WILL need the proof sometime down the road. All in all, I would say at times BTS was good, but mostly they operate in the morally gray to keep that top line up. Was fired over voicemail, for not working overtime (just working a standard 40 hour work week at night!) while I was recovering from the flu. No notice, no conversation, just canned. If management had taken a moment to speak with me, I could have provided email proof I had approval to take a slight step back while I and my family all recovered from the flu.
