Pros

Friendly colleagues who have lives outside of work. Nice place if you enjoy improvising and being thrown in the deep-end.

Cons

The pay is very low compared to other consulting firms and the culture can be cult-like. They use the "fun" factor of team-building activities and awards to distract you from what's really going on.... they're cheap and unorganized! The culture pressures you to not turn down projects because everyone else is so overworked. You won't have time to use the unlimited PTO or summer half Fridays - so don't fall for it! Nothing and I mean nothing is defined in terms of practices and processes, you'll be completely confused during your 1st year on what this company even services to clients. Don't want to feel used, unethical, under-compensated or burnt-out? Go to Deloitte or EY.

Cons

In the 2 times I have worked for BTS I have been misled on the environment/situation I would be working in. Which has led to serious issues. The first time, I was recruited I moved my family across the country for a position that had 16 turnovers over a 2 year period due to the toxic government leadership. I was not given any heads up and was put in a seriously challenging position for both my career and financial wellbeing. The second time I took a job with BTS, I was told the contract had just been awarded for 5 years. However, once I arrived, again having moved my family across the country, I found out the contract was on a 6 month extension. There are other issues on the administrative side, and all I will recommend is to document everything. You WILL need the proof sometime down the road. All in all, I would say at times BTS was good, but mostly they operate in the morally gray to keep that top line up. Was fired over voicemail, for not working overtime (just working a standard 40 hour work week at night!) while I was recovering from the flu. No notice, no conversation, just canned. If management had taken a moment to speak with me, I could have provided email proof I had approval to take a slight step back while I and my family all recovered from the flu.
