Pros
BMC has (had) great and talented people. The company allows you much freedom to work where you want. It pays well and has good benefits.
Cons
BMC does not instill any loyalty into its employees. It is constantly doing layoffs and re-orgs. It is a very political organization and it can be hard to get things done quickly. They is way too much CYA going on at BMC. Also, they have lost a lot of great people either in layoffs or through attrition as the employees don't trust the company and its direction.
