Pros

It is only a good place to work to wait out retirement. In general, it is not a good place for someone that is not already indoctrinated. It is disappointing, since the Avaya products are truly best in class. Going private was supposed to be a benefit, but that has not yet been the case. There is some flexibility in work modes, such as telecommuting, but that is disappearing as the desire for greater control of resources comes into play.

Cons

Drastic change without thought to consequences. Outsourcing to India of key intellectual property. Senior management positions rarely get filled from the inside. Benefits get cut every year. Pension plan was frozen years ago, so it virtually worthless.

Pros

The company used to care about customers, but they removed all the sales people who actually visited and consulted with customers to save travel cost.

Cons

The company's newest CEO, Patrick, only cares about getting back to a Cybersecurity company as fast as possible. Can't sell the company fast enough, but buyers can't get past due diligence periods.
