Pros

The pay wasn't bad. There was flexibility. Decent lunch places nearby. I no longer work there.

Cons

Could have been my department (technical/analytical), but it was most definitely a boys club. From the beginning I could tell it wasn't going to work out. Been used to being one of the few women in a room for many years but NEW/Asurion took it to another level. To start management was part of the boys club (all in good fun they would say), you had managers and directors playing pranks on analysts and that was supposed to be funny. I was convinced it was some sort of reality TV show. When I was the victim of the childish behavior of my colleagues and brought it up to my boss, I would be told to give the colleague the benefit of the doubt. Which was hard considering the whole incident was documented in Twitter. HR was not helpful either(not the incident above since by then I had lost any hope HR would do anything) , they tried to convince me that I was being too sensitive and that I should go home to talk to my husband about not working there. It really was hard to do my job in that environment. The main con was that I did not see my work valued at all. I improved processes. I could do what my predecessor did in two weeks in about 30 minutes and they were not impressed. Instead, they promoted a colleague who was better than my other colleagues but had less experience than me. Other women shared similar stories with me. If you are a technical person, who wants to figure out technical stuff and don't want to deal with office politics on steroids...don't work here. The money is not bad, but not worth it. Some of the people were good one on one but get them all together and it really brings out the worst. I can go on and on about this place and I've had a few years to reflect. I'm at a much better place now, where my contributions are appreciated. So I'm writing this about my experience 3 years ago and a lot of the same people are still there and naturally they have been promoted. They do an okay job and maybe they have grown up since but the lack of professionalism encouraged (if it's not disencouraged, it is encouraged) makes it an undesirable place to work.

Pros

Training provided, tools and knowledge that help in various aspects, great intro to tech support or engineering.

Cons

Either you are overworked because the store is understaffed or not enough hours because too many part time people. Pay remains low even after years of experience, conditions for drivers doing mobile repairs can be sketchy, drivers during summer can get really hard, busy days can lead to 9-10 hours driving, a big push to be more sales focuses instead of tech repair focused. If there is already a manager; there’s not really a path to go from technician to manager or technician to corporate opportunities.
