      There are many positions advertised by Amgen

      Cons

      The positions are bogus. When I was employed at Amgen I applied for over 20 positions. One of them interviewed me but I was not able to work onsite. 3 others decided to move forward without me. The rest ghosted me. They are big on talent retention but they dont actively pursue this. The opportunities at Amgen are almost non-existent. They would rather use their existing employees than hire new ones. That means the longer you work there the more they will put on your plate. The end result is burnout.

      Amazing company with great culture! All people are nice and willing to share their knowledge with you!

      Pros

      Work from home flexibility and the summer and winter shutdown periods are a nice benefit. Good health insurance.

      Cons

      Management style can be controlling and micromanaging with expectations that shift without clear communication. Employees are held to high standards but not always given the support or clarity needed to meet them. Performance concerns are documented quickly without full context being considered. Culture does not match the company’s public image.
