A good company if you're local, but not for professionals recruited in from elsewhere. - Anonymous employee Aflac Employee Review

Pros

Flexible, low stress environment. They don't ask much of you, so it's easy to leave the office by 6 p.m. and no need to arrive before 8:30a.m.

Cons

Leadership does not know how to utilize experienced, professional talent. Several of my peers that were recruited in from other major companies were dissatisfied at Aflac. Of course, your direct management team has a huge influence on this. Even with 15-20 years of experience to offer, we were told what to do and heavily micromanaged.

Pros

Freedom to be your own boss, trips, bonuses, renewable income (instead of one time commission), career instead of just a job. FORTUNE 500 and a World's most Ethical Company. Great training (at least here in Wyoming) and a family mentality. Great family/work balance.

Cons

No base pay, can be a slow start at first, you have to be very organized and self-driven, have to be licensed in life and health to sell insurance (but my management help with the process).
