Great for getting a ton of experience using a variety of relevant technologies Also great for moving around different industries to try different things out
Cons
Really have to be your own advocate in the promotion process, in my experience nobody is keeping tabs on your performance like a traditional job. I've worked with individuals who shouldn't have gotten promoted and they simply talked themselves up whereas people who were deserving of promotion were overlooked because they couldn't market themselves in a great way.
