Accenture – Why Work For Us?

Join Accenture to help the world’s leading companies imagine the future and bring it to life. Innovation is at the core of our business model, with the Accenture Innovation Architecture bringing together Accenture Research to identify market and technology trends, Accenture Ventures to invest in growth-stage companies, Accenture Labs to incubate and prototype new concepts through applied R&D and Accenture Studios to build innovative solutions for clients with speed and agility.

Our innovation hubs provide destinations where Accenture people work side-by-side with their clients to ideate, rapidly prototype and launch transformative ideas. In these hubs, our clients have hands-on access to digital and emerging technologies that have the power to transform business (think artificial intelligence, blockchain, robotics, drones with computer vision and virtual reality).

We use our global capabilities and digital experience to address a wide range of societal issues—and improve the way the world works and lives. For example, we collaborated with Biogen to develop a first-of-its-kind molecular comparison application which has the potential to significantly speed up drug discovery and bring medicines to people faster. With Microsoft, we’re helping the United Nations provide digital legal identification for refugees who have no official documents, with a digital ID network that runs on blockchain technology and connects existing public and commercial records so people can access their personal details from any location.

Outside of client work, Accenture people love to give back and donate their time. They are passionate about improving the way the world works and lives. Last year, our employees spent approximately 240,000 hours volunteering through its global corporate citizenship initiative, Skills to Succeed, which helps transform lives by equipping people with the skills to get a job or start a business. Accenture is on track to equip 3M+ people worldwide with workplace and entrepreneurial skills by 2020.

The diversity of our people is part of what makes Accenture exceptional. We value the diversity of thought and experience that comes from across a broad spectrum of abilities, age, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity and expression. We believe it makes us smarter, more competitive and more innovative—and is a key part of what makes Accenture a great place to work.

We’re taking steps to increase progress toward a more diverse and inclusive workplace, for example, by setting a new a new goal to achieve a gender-balanced workforce by 2025. And we encourage our employees to use their voice to help create a workplace where it’s possible to be successful, both personally and professionally. We invite you to join our #InclusionStartsWithI conversation.

At Accenture, we know that success for our people requires two things: the right skills and the right opportunities.

Constant learning is essential to building the right skills, which is why we make learning – from basic skills to industry-specific content—available to all our people. Last year, we spent more than $900 million on training and developing our people, with a focus on helping our people become more conversant in areas like cloud, digital and security.

We place enormous value on mentoring within the workplace, and each of our employees are a designated, more experienced person who provides career coaching and guidance to help them manage their careers and develop professionally. Our new approach to performance management includes real-time, forward-looking conversations about setting priorities, growing strengths and creating opportunities tailored to each individual—and eliminates the annual ranking.

I worked at Accenture full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My direct capability area leadership team was amazing, rewarded and recognized me for my contributions, and selflessly pushed me to expand my horizons.

All the success I am now experiencing in my industry role was due to the training and knowledge gained during my time at Accenture.

Accenture really tries to practice what they preach (all these best practices) and the global network is truly impressive with people who are willing to help you in a heartbeat.

I loved having alot of opportunities to do and learn more outside of core consulting projects - helping to build the local Accenture community, getting involved in asset development, learning development, practice operations, recruitment, business development...etc.

The Kx (knowledge exchange) was the best thing ever - so much thought capital that can be accessed to help enhance our thinking.

    Cons

Dedication and long hours comes hand in hand with strategic consulting projects - while I don't regret all the hours put in to excel quickly in the formative years of my career (I knew what I signed up for and took full advantage of it), work/life harmony was difficult but when you enjoy the people you work with and the work you're doing, work and life kinda meld together nicely.

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on helping people succeed and practicing positive leadership. Be flexible in making decisions that help build local skills and optimize chargeability, even if we are a tad short on target CCI.

    Application

The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Accenture (Montreal, QC) in February-2016.

    Interview

Bon processus au global. Très sélectif. Faut bien se préparer aux différentes questions et être ouvert au dialogue et au débat sur différents sujets relatifs au monde du conseil. La personne était accueillante et m'a mis en confiance
