Pros

1. Global brand. 2. Good Hike during joining. 3. Office facilities are State of art. 4. Deputation allowance and facilities are better than any other company.

Cons

1. Accenture has become as big as the Pacific Ocean in India. Once you step into the water you never know what other fish you may encounter. After the initial 2 days on induction which includes gala lunch for 2 days and a joining kit, if you are not a project specific hire ( rare) you will go to bench. Many people relocate to another city to join Accenture. After a period of 3 weeks if their is no project in the current location with your skill set you will start getting calls from other locations asking if your ready to relocate. Refusals would be tagged and after refusal HR will call to know the reason. I have seen people getting calls from other location from day1 , though they cannot tag a refusal.3 refusals may result in your dismissal. I myself was lucky to get a good project after 1.5 months in the same location, same building. Funny thing was that after joining the project and most projects afterwards I found people working from other locations ( some from my Home Location ). Later whenever I tried applying through their internal portal for a role in a project ( 4yrs) none were successful. Whenever ur on bench projects keep calling though none of the roles show up in the internal portal. So the catch is that how does a person work in his area of interest or grow in some newly learned skill if the Projects are not open on the available roles. I have even seen people getting locked in projects through some background process in same or some other location and Project being unaware of this, sometimes even refusing to provide billing code. People tend to send mails to large groups when they want to relocate or are looking for a specific job role. This option infact tends to yield better result at times. 2. Performance management - Accenture has moved from MyPerformance to a new tool called Performance management. Bell curve has been removed from the system. The Feedback that is given in the tool has absolutely no bearing on the final rating ( people are still rated as Room to grow, needs improvement etc ) . I have seen people with Top feedback ratings ( Great Work) from multiple projects getting last ratings in the Final year end appraisal which results in PIP and subsequent dismissal. Sometimes Feedback is withheld from supervisor till final decision has taken place. The real decision takes place in a moderation call in which leads and managers participate. Who will participate in this call depends on the project. No quantitative analysis takes place in these calls, I have found leads blackballing resources whom they consider to be a threat. Usually it comes down to personal rappo and gut feeling. If they feel the resource would be of future use for the project they try to do something good. If their is a disagreement for no matter how much justified reason people just barf out something negative and the resource ends up with a bad rating. People who ask for release get a bad rating, People who relocate for personal reasons get a bad rating, people who resign get a bad rating. PIP can be raised at any time in the year. Now for people who get a average or above average rating. Last year Accenture has not given any increment or minimum increment to these people also. Timely promotion has also not taken place for many.

Pros

There are a lot of pros working for Accenutre. They have great career opportunities, a never ending supply of interesting work, competitive compensation, wonderful benefits, great people, wonderful training programs, a tremendous number of brilliant professionals in their fields ready to help, and great core values.

Cons

This is not an opportunity for those that do not want to work. At Accenture everyone has a load of work to do and often times under very tight customer time lines. It is a challenge that I enjoy but many might find it stressful.
