Pros
There are many pros in the Organization 1. People talk about politics but let me tell you that work hard, learn new things and the best will come to you politics is there but once you learn new thing your value in market increases so they have to retain you or someone else will. Accenture gives that platform where you can learn various new things. The learning and management team is one of the best in industry to train the resources. 2. Accenture does provide a lot of training and even provides lot of coupon/vouchers for training from third party. Just now I got to know Accenture provides free TOSCA certification course for its employee through a voucher code. One training costs ~ 150 Euros, and Accenture provides 6 of those. So overall if you are hungry to learn Accenture is a good place. 3. Now when it comes to politics it will be there, but still it is better than other organizations because here everyone is under radar of Senior Management and even if someone has a good approach or contact in top management and if any escalation happens it will be kept anonymous and some other team will do the investigation whom is no where related to him. It happened with one of my senior team member, his matter got escalated till Leadership level and he was given warning and his promotion/appraisal got affected. Till now no one knows who escalated things and who investigated and when. So ethics is one the core value company holds. 4. It is more employee friendly than other in terms of the tracing mechanism. No one tracks you here. How many hours you stay inside office until you breach a certain threshold of not coming to office at all and your manager reports it to your HR. In other organization I have seen they have been tracked by seconds and needed to give justification of going out of campus for "1 hour, 23 minutes and 47 seconds". Do your work have a good reputation with not just manager but more people around you. Even office politics cannot ignore you in that case. Because more people will support you if you feel that you are cheated in appraisal or promotions. No one is doing charity here, its all about business. No one is the owner from CEO to a cleaning staff, all are employees. Remember this. If something wrong is happening just report it with proofs and be assured that it will be taken care of properly. I have seen it happening.
Cons
There are cons too but they are few and insignificant. 1. The appraisal is not that good as compared to companies like other small scale companies. (between 12- 16% is average) 2. The support staff are useless, coming up with excuses every time. 3. HR are headache they cant be made to believe something and they don't listen to you. At last you might need to escalate it to higher levels to get a response. 4. Politics but as I said you need to have good repo with people and even with leadership if it is possible. Engage in extra curricular activity it helps you to make more contacts. Only thing which is as important as your work is to have contacts in every place so if you get stuck somewhere you know there is someone who will watch your back. Please make sure you are not boot licking someone but rather than that you are making your repo through your work and attitude. 5. Might need to shift a lot as there are many office for Accenture in India as well as in a single city so you might need to shift houses a lot.
