Pros

-Laptop -Ipad -Cell Phone - Great Discounts on Personal Cell and Direct TV Services - Education Benefits & Opportunities Overall a good place to build your resume and education in the industry.

Cons

- Large Company with tons of red tape - Aging systems and technology - Slow to Market - Inept Managers allowed to sit and wait on pensions while ruining careers of direct reports - Numbers driven managers lacking real forward thinking vision - Company is going through too many changes without a clear vision of the end result - Can only advance based on playing corporate politics and not based on results AT&T is lacking clear leadership and focus from the top, CEO Randall Stephenson, CEO of MBS Ralp Dela Vega and others. While it is trying to rebrand its image as a "Mobile First" leader in the entertainment, content, content delivery, Internet of things and business solutions, it appears the clarity internally has been lost along the way. The company is making many changes in their business solution segment which is causing some serious growing pains as it tries to move away from old legacy systems and products. There doesnt seem to be a path forward to shut down legacy systems and move to updated technology. The company only cares about the number of new subscribers each month and really nothing else. This has caused the culture to change from a great place to be to a what have you done for me lately mentality. You either meet your numbers or your gone. The company has also lost through this change many seasoned and experienced leaders who have bolted for better positions in better companies leaving a huge void being filled by inept leaders who will ruin careers to save their own. The company has a reseller mentality in the business soluton segment, they have filled thier product lineup with too many none core products that are either white labeld from others or just resold by AT&T making it hard to sell against direct sellers in the marketplace. A company the size of AT&T should be able to develop their own solutions and not rely on solutions from others with large mark ups. There is also a growing mentality of bringing in Agents to resell AT&T solutions which is eliminating positions and causing serious internal morale issues. While this might save a buck or two for wall street it is not a solid strategy to grow your business or create a solid reputation in the industry. This mentality is spilling into the mobilty retail arm as well. More and more stores are moving over to the Agent Channel and being run by third parties. Again this saves money and looks good to wall street however these agents pay minimum wage at best and treat their employees horrible. This is causing poor issues with customer service in the stores which will utlimately affect the bottom line as more people will switch to other carriers for better customer experiences.

Pros

1 of the best things about AT&T is the training you receive as a New Hire. The company sends you to a designated location for a month's worth of training. They teach you the basics of sales and how to maximize your customers in-store experiences. While at training if it is necessary, they will pay to put you in a hotel, give you an American Express card for daily meals and reimburse you for any travel expenses in a very timely manor. The training you receive is top of the line. Next, lets talk pay. At&t pays their employees extremely well. With a base salary with paid overtime and full benefits and a compensation program, you won't want to leave the company just for that reason. They take care of their employees for the time you spend with them. Room for advancement. At AT&T moving up is a breeze if your motivated and a hard working individual. My current assistant store manager has only been with the company 10 months and is already looking at becoming a small business rep.

Cons

The work and life balance. The hours are long and tiring to the point were when you get home all you want to do is sleep and on your days off as well. Customers you have to deal with and the ability for a sales rep to control the interaction . That is one of the biggest complaint I have about the company. A lot of times customers come into the store hot and as sales reps we don't have the discretion or ability to waive ridiculous fees or fix issues. Everything seems like it has to be refereed to customer care which makes for a bad customer experience in store.
