Short term gain, long term pain

Pros

Pay and benefits are good, people for the most part are helpful

Cons

Management gives you a false sense of security. Everything seems to be going well, then layoffs. Bad hiring management, a large number of staff were hired only months before their most recent round of layoffs in April. No clarity on size of RIF but looks to be about 20%. Seems like layoffs are the norm as they can’t figure out their staffing needs.

Pros

The product is very cool! Colleagues were kind and supportive that I worked with.

Cons

Datarails does not care about the people that it employs nor their livelihoods. As many other reviews have touched upon, the company recently did a large wave of layoffs after proudly raising new funding. A large number of the affected employees were hired only months beforehand who no doubt left good steady jobs for the opportunity they were promised. Be very very careful if you are considering leaving your current company for Datarails and do not let them fool you.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We recognize that experiences during periods of change can feel unsettling, particularly for those directly impacted. At Datarails, decisions related to hiring and organizational structure are made based on the best information available at the time, as well as evolving market conditions, customer needs, and long-term business priorities. As with many growth-stage companies, there are moments where adjustments are necessary to ensure the organization is aligned for sustainable growth. These decisions are never taken lightly. We also want to acknowledge your positive comments about our product and the people you worked with. We are proud of the team we have built and the collaborative culture many employees continue to experience day to day. We understand that not every individual experience will reflect the same perspective, and feedback like this is taken seriously as we continue to improve how we communicate and support our employees through change. We appreciate your time with us and wish you success in your next chapter.
