Not recognizable... and not in a good way

Pros

DCP was regarded as a top company to work. Great culture. People believed and worked hard. Sadly, that is in the rear view mirror.

Cons

Blind allegiance to a digital strategy, of which ICC is good but Energy Lab is a colossal mess with no results. Company leadership values publicity strokes and touring conferences more than fixing its real people and leadership issues. Soon, anyone with integrity will be gone if they can get out.

We appreciate you taking time to review DCP. We take a lot of pride in our culture and we’re honored to be recognized as one of America’s best Midsize Employers by Forbes. Since 2015, we’ve been executing our DCP 2020 transformation strategy and the ICC has been a significant piece of that strategy. The success of the ICC is largely due to the amazing collaboration between all groups – including the Energy Lab which helps feed and develop the technology running the ICC. We know we have a long way to go, are not there yet, and are excited to have been recently recognized as an industry leader by IoT Word Today. Our strategy, technology investment, and continued pursuit of operational excellence in all that we do is starting to pay off and will lead to DCP’s long term competitive advantage.

Pros

Aside from the decent insurance benefits there are none to speak of anymore.

Cons

Upper management bragged about how they weathered the recession and how great they were because there were no layoffs. (Technically there were no layoffs but they continued to outsource IT.) Well guess what happened in 2015? They laid off 20% of their workforce. It was done not in the fashion DCP would have it's employees believe. I watched as people I considered friends were escorted out and given cab rides home. This should come as a surprise from a company that over the last few years touted itself as having a focus on the employees and operations but the sad reality is DCP is no different than any other soulless corporation and I am actively looking to leave as soon as humanly possible. I don't want to be a part of a company that lies to it's employees and treats them with such indifference.

Pros

At first: Good pay, benefits, people. Big company with opportunity. This has all changed dramatically.

Cons

I worked at DCP for 18 years, and retired in the Denver office. Ever since Wouter Van Kempen started as CEO, a new "slash and burn" strategy was implemented. Thousands of employees were laid off, and everyone else had to do the work of three and four people.
