Pros

In retrospect: NONE, although they did buy me a very nice lunch.

Cons

Was hired to be a senior developer in Atlanta. Was there for TWO DAYS before they terminated me. Didn't give explanation; ordered me to leave immediately and get reasons from headhunter who'd placed me. Reasons were bogus, unsubstantiated, and not documented. Even the headhunter called BS on them. Thinking is that they exceeded their budget hiring me (they did bring in a junior at half the pay they promised me) and had to make excuses.

Pros

They wont fire you because they are too desperate for employees

Cons

The work structure is unbelievably flawed. The owner of the company stepped in to manage, this has created a very hostile work environment as the operations team no longer goes from manager to president to owner it just goes straight from ops to owner. The team is getting asked to do the job of 15 positions while only barely getting paid for 1. The hiring team uses hostile and manipulative measures of recruiting new employees by targeting people ages "35-55" with "No want to improve or be promoted" as well as those who "desperately need income and are too old to job hop" or "single parents". They are also targeting people who work in " worse positions like those in overnight shifts or fast food restaurants" so that way they will be "grateful for this job because it isn't as bad as their last" candidates have been repeatedly been turned down because they are "Too young, too energetic, not desperate enough, overqualified, will want to get promoted, or financially good with their money". Long story short the hiring practices of this company are outrageous and should shut this company down. At this point, the staff is so mistreated and overworked that everyone begins to fight within the ops team solely because they are too stressed and tired and not because they even have anything to argue about. By the time you leave work at the end of the day the whole team is so mentally drained that it makes no one want to come back to work the next day. The owner is out of touch with the world and his employees and is constantly leaving the rest of the companies departments in the dark about how bad the working conditions of the ops department is and how many people have already quit in the past 3 weeks alone with many more to follow. Please do yourself a favor and do not apply for this job. Oh and we were forced while at work to write the positive reviews to try and counteract the old bad reviews.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. We have had quite a few employees who have returned to Crown recognizing the opportunities the company provides. The vast majority of employees are under 30 and can't think of a time we hired an overnight shift or fast food restaurant employee. However if you run into one that can qualify and help us out please send the person our way.

Operations - Sinking Ship

Pros

Everyone you work with on the ops team is hard working and trying to do what they can to support customers in the face of what’s going on and how they’re being treated.

Cons

Multiple members of the ops team have left to be paid significantly more with better overall positions. Ops/DevOps is undervalued and treated as so. Multiple products are broken and fail frequently causing the operations team to play catch up while solutions to outages are found. Traveling throughout the pandemic has cause multiple office members to contract COVID-19. Very limited COVID-19 precautions throughout the pandemic unless the state/federal government orders a change of policy. A mountain of work continues to build as people leave the operations staff - tickets/projects/customers continue to pile up while operations members are micromanaged. No formal HR. Concerns go directly to the owner and/or new manager. Fear of retaliation and/or pushback.
