Pros

ConsumerDirect has a lot of staff events, parties, holiday events, etc. You can do just about anything with your time if you can justify it for the business, so there is a lot of creative activity going on all the time.

Cons

ConsumerDirect is a private company with a single owner who does not trust his staff enough to let the company operate without his approval on every decision. Employees must come into work at the office every single day with almost no exceptions.

Thank you for your feedback, We are a small and privately owned Company with a hands-on CEO. We have experienced rapid growth over the past several years, and as such our Corporate dynamic has shifted drastically. Our CEO strives to foster a culture of innovation, growth and autonomy for our whole team. We have always been an in-office Company, but we work hard to support the flexible needs of our team. We do have a flexible Work From Home policy that allows employees to work from their own homes/out of office on an as needed basis.

Pros

The few pros working here at CD is free food and if you get close enough to the right people your job will be safe. (Literally) This company goes base off of how many people like you or if you fit in.

Cons

CEO rambles off about how the company is doing phenomenal but only when the cameras are out recording him. Every single upper management is rude and treats others like peasants. This is a great place if you like to kiss upper management’s behinds to get you job security.

"Company Culture" is really show pony while micromanaging

Pros

Free lunch is a nice perk, it's close to a small coffee pop up.

Cons

Extreme focus on sales and micromanaged to the point where we can't comfortably use our "unlimited" PTO or work from home benefits. There's massive layoffs while they spend money on pointless things like an arcade machine. The claim to be a "culture of communication" but micromanagement isn't how you go about that. They claim our culture is the best but it's giving show pony vibes - things David (CEO) can buy to make his company look better while doing the bare minimum to incentivize employees. They promise room for growth but there has been none company wide. They'll also have pointless meetings about boosting sales while auditing things like calls and slack. It's become a hostile environment where anyone can be laid off at any given moment.

Our focus on sales and performance is aimed at ensuring that everyone is encouraged to perform at their best. We do not micromanage unless improvement is needed, and our meetings are intended to foster a culture of collaboration, radical candor and feedback. Unfortunately, even with coaching and hands-on training not all employees are able to meet our performance expectations and sometimes we are forced to make the difficult decision of allowing them to move on. Although a difficult decision to make, this is a necessary practice to continue to ensure a high-performance team and is a common practice for many companies. This year we have hired at a robust pace and will continue to do so in areas of need. We encourage a high-performance culture within our team through a variety of means. We pay almost 10x more in sales commissions than others in our industry and many of our Sales team members are making significantly more here than anywhere else. Every employee is also a shareholder so that they can all share in our success. Despite the economic uncertainty that next year holds, we have continued to support our team’s growth and development through hands-on and out of office training. We provide $1,500 annually to each employee to be used towards their own pursuits of L&D. This year we’ve promoted 10% of our team internally, and last year we promoted over 30%. We also offer a flexible Work From Home Policy, and Open Time Off to support the Work-Life balance of our talented team members. We had purchased the arcade over a year ago, and due to supply chain issues, it was only recently able to be delivered. Our employees have loved being able to take a break and recharge with it. We encourage open and honest feedback from our team, and continuously strive to foster a culture of growth, communication, and innovation.
