Pros

Joining a startup means there's a lot of opportunity for growth, and CapIntel is no different. They will support you in taking initiatives and stepping out of your comfort zone, whether this means venturing into leadership, taking on more complex tasks, etc. They also offer a very collaborative environment where everyone has a voice and giving everyone a chance to bring ideas to the table. They also have a big focus on efficiency, making sure that your time is used as well as possible and that you're not swamped with superficial meetings. I truly believe that CapIntel's culture played a huge role in their success as an organization. Their Extreme Ownership values create a safe space where there's no pointing fingers, no shifting blame, and where everyone is purely focused on building the best product possible. Extreme Ownership also means that you're accountable whether things go wrong or right, which may not be for everyone - but as someone who likes to be impactful this suited me perfectly. The product is also super interesting and innovative in a lot of ways. Over the years I've had the chance to see and experience a lot of the feedback we received from clients, and it doesn't take long to see how much of an impact the platform has on their day-to-day. It also seems like leadership has a good understanding of where they're headed in the future, and that they want to keep being innovative in this industry.

Cons

As of writing this, the company is still in the process of figuring out their growth, which can result in a somewhat chaotic environment at times. The different product squads are still being formed, the product isn't as stable as they would want it to be and the organization's structure is still changing. That being said, listing these as "cons" is a bit dishonest since these are normal challenges for a startup to go through and simply means they're trying to scale - but this sort of environment might not suit everyone.

Pros

Office Stipend , Good salary

Cons

WFH job, it’s not a fully remote position as advertised Unorganized, company doesn’t really know what they want Was hired - but this role wasn’t really needed so I was “let go” for performance issues, every piece of work I sent in to my supervisor was criticized and it’s not what they wanted even after following their steps and getting clarification from them They preach diversity - yet very few BIPOC employees

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We appreciate hearing what we’re doing well and where we can improve. We understand that working remotely can be challenging, and we apologize for any confusion regarding the nature of the position. We will do a better job of identifying teams that operate more like a hybrid model and calling this out in job postings so we can set the appropriate expectations. We recognize that we can become more organized, and are implementing formal processes around business planning and execution to help with this. We are also introducing resources and exercises to support leadership in how they can deliver feedback effectively. We know Equity, Diversity and Inclusion is important and a lot of organizations can improve upon their strategy and programs; we are no exception. We’re committed to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in our workplace, and are introducing initiatives to increase the representation of BIPOC employees across the various levels and teams. Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback. --Melissa (Senior TA Partner)

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate hearing what we’re doing well and where we can improve. We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the self-starting culture and the opportunities to connect outside of work. Culture is exceptionally important to us, and we want our employees to feel a sense of inclusion and belonging. We’re sorry to hear that your experience was subpar, and we’re committed to working on ways to improve our culture and the employee experience. We’re also looking at ways to capture domain knowledge so it’s more accessible across the company. We recognize that Extreme Ownership is a practice, and we won’t always get it right. We want our leaders to set an example for the rest of the company, and we’re introducing resources and exercises to support their growth. Thank you again for your feedback. It’s greatly appreciated. -- Melissa (Senior TA Partner)
