Pros

Some good people here and there. The team I worked with was excellent, but we were constantly challenged by the uncollaborative nature of the company and poor management.

Cons

- False job descriptions repeatedly used in hiring, indicative of unethical practices. - Compensation offered is below market rates. - Career progression is unattainable unless you threaten resignation. - An extremely incompetent HR department, characterized by a history of unfinished projects and hostile policies. - An obsolete, 10-year-old codebase that no one understands or is willing to address. - Poor management seems to be the status quo. The company uses false job descriptions to lure candidates. This not only sets false expectations but also straddles ethical, if not legal, boundaries. Despite claims of conducting market research to establish fair compensation, the company neither shares this data nor offers competitive salaries. It's clear that no actual market research has been conducted; misinformation is a cornerstone of their compensation strategy. Opportunities for career growth are virtually nonexistent and generally come to light only when an employee threatens to leave the company. There is no policy for employee retention; it's either to endure the environment or depart for greener pastures. Most people choose the latter. Speak to any employee, and they'll confirm that the HR department has never completed a single project it has initiated. Moreover, the department perpetuates a hostile work environment, misuses company resources, and deflects blame when finances are exhausted. It's worth noting that the new CEO is a director for Herbalife. Go figure. The absence of documentation and a general reluctance to tackle the issue result in finger-pointing whenever challenges arise. Interactions with other teams typically either yield silence or a dismissive "Not my job." And the company name is Calabrio. If you're seeking a fulfilling and growth-oriented career, I would highly recommend exploring opportunities elsewhere.

Pros

At exit, no pros whatsoever. New regime tore out anyone or anything that was once good about the company

Cons

- new C suite clueless on the market - numerous incidents of snr mgmt bullying and coercive, toxic, unethical behaviour - poor, unorganized and underperforming supporting teams (HR, IT, Finance). - A billion dollar valued company that is unbelievably incompetent in key functional areas. - constant miscommunication and what felt like purposeful misleading/ lying on company performance/ results. - 2 years ago, the company was on a good path toward being acquired; now, with new mgmt and their lack of market knowledge, those opps have dried up. Ultimately, can only blame Thomo Bravo PE owner for ruining what was a once vibrant company full of potential. No longer the case.

Pros

Few years ago with the previous CEO, company culture was decent, middle management knew what was going on and were able to design proper work for engineers

Cons

As of 2023, engineers are treated like dirt and your work changes from one thing to the next. Money is not worth the stress
