I have been working at Bruce Power full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of potential for career advancement, managers care about employees, outstanding pay and benefits, many great co-workers, out of the rat race of a city.

    Cons

It's a large corporation located in a small town... there are going to be politics and favourites. Negative stereotype of employees in community from people who don't know better/jealous.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up. Over a thousand managers and you are bound to find some who don't install accountability in their workgroups or for themselves. Address those individuals.

    Pros

I have found that working for Bruce power has and is a journey of respect. The work environment and the culture is very professional. I all so find the work interesting in as much as I have never been around a nuclear facility before. I find getting to know the procedures a little challenging but I am coming along in that regard. I enjoy the team work amongst my fellow workers and the helpfulness of the UTLs.

    Cons

The cafeteria in "B" really needs to be improved or located in a new facility. Also the food is really wanting. I try to eat healthy and I am allergic to gluten. The menu is rather limited in that way.

    Advice to Management

Also the food is really wanting. I try to eat healthy and I am allergic to gluten. The menu is rather limited in that way. I sometimes find that the supervisors do not take the time to learn about the people they supervise. Not all are like that but some need some coaching on how to get the best out of the people. As a man that has run very large jobs with 20 plus workers I found that a large part of my job was to help the worker be as good as the are capable of being. As a supervisor I came to realise that I had a wealth of experience to draw on I choose to do so as a supervisor.
