Pros

There were no Pros to this job. The position I was hired for was cleaning up a mess left by the last person who left the position. The job that I had interviewed for was Science Fiction. I will say if they liked you, then you really did not have a problem with the job. There was a person who was caught lying on their job application and they kept this person on because they could speak a different language besides english. The people I worked with and met including the CEO were not what they seemed at all. It was a cult environment and everybody gossiped about everybody including the managers and CEO. Not a healthy environment to work in.

Cons

The one Con at Avalon was there was so much Nepotism. It was rampant. You did wonder how people in so many positions did not know what they were doing and then found out they were related to someone else. Ergo, that is how this company is run. Some of the customers were not impressed with Avalon and said, "we're surprised they were still in business." My advice to anyone who is looking for a job, please do not waste your time or your life working at Avalon.

Pros

Depending on your department, there are some amazing teams here.

Cons

The typical cons you find in any office setting - some cattiness with some of the employees, departments, but the overall vibe of the place is good. No remote work flexibility for anyone other than upper management.

Pros

Relaxed environment and friendly staff. A lot of paid time off annually.

Cons

Management is lacking. Lots of unnecessary steps in order to pay low dollar amount claims. Very little training, but high expectations. Micromanaging and inefficiency is pretty much the name of the game in this position. No room for advancement. Promotions are handed out based on how long you have worked at the company and not necessarily how well you do your job. Pay is ridiculously low and raises are impossible to get. First TPA I have worked for that makes you go against the client. Weird.
