Pros

Colleagues and members are supportive.

Cons

Leaders attempt to appear tough through layoffs and firings, but they often just need a scapegoat. Truthfully, this organization is LARPing its way through. Employees spend a lot of time talking about how toxic the work environment is, and members are waiting for the ball to drop.

Pros

Great workplace as far as working with other people. Depending on the person, they are willing to work with you on completing tasks and projects.

Cons

Horrible management style. Executive directors & chiefs silo the departments from each other. The CEO has the company do work summits to gather the employees to "work" together to accomplish the company's mission, but nothing actually gets done. The CEO says one thing but does another. Upper management claims to have an open-door policy and is there for employees, but the support is lacking. Management is unrealistic with the amount of work that needs to be done within a certain amount of time.

Pros

AMPP has talented, passionate staff and a mission that matters. Members are dedicated and eager to contribute. Some staff teams in AMPP have a strong culture, but it's getting harder to maintain. Pay is fair. Time off and work life balance are good, but that can depend on the manager. Remote/hybrid options for most jobs.

Cons

Executive leadership is holding the organization back, and the buck stops with the CEO. Decisions prioritize personal agendas and PR over the mission. Dissent is shut down from staff and members, making it safer to stay silent than speak up. Too many consultants and meaningless buzzwords. Morale and trust are low. Leadership fails to provide clear priorities and expected results which constantly change. Teams are left unsure of what to do and are left guessing when leadership fails to communicate. Staff is trying to hold it together, but the lack of discipline and competence at the top means we can't hang on forever. We're tired. Members notice the lack of focus and direction. Leadership changes at the top are urgently needed.
