Great challenges but nothing else

Pros

1. Challenging working environment which is great for career development 2. Bonus and share structure at senior management level 3. Senior Management is approachable (Director, VP level)

Cons

1. Company culture is very cut-throat and toxic. ABInBev is also very arrogant in it's approach to external stakeholders/suppliers. 2. No work/life balance - You are expected to work at least 12 hours a day, often work over weekends. No respect for after-hour personal and family time (you will get phone calls in the evenings and over weekends requesting immediate assistance and you are expected to respond immediately) 3. Compensation package - Contrary to popular belief, base salary isn't great. ABInBev only pay 80% of market related salary because they believe you work for the benefit of their name on your resume. However there are good bonus and share options depending on your management level and KPI performance. 4. Company strategies are changed on a whim and not enough foresight is given to detrimental operational impacts downstream; often leading to great frustration. 5. Lots of politics 6. HR department is a complete joke 7. Extremely high employee turnover - this indicates that there are obvious flaws that senior management and HR are not addressing.

Incredibly Political

Pros

Room for advancement in areas that you don't have expertise. They are looking more for cultural fit and transferable skills than previous experience in that specific department. The only exception to this appears to be in sales where they heavily favor those with previous sales experience. In marketing, look for previous commercial experience.

Cons

Highly political. Perception and networking is valued more than skills. Pay is poor for the work being done and no work life balance. They don't value loyalty and if they need to hit their EBITDA, they're not afraid to have that come out of the pockets of their employees.

Pros

Given the lack of people, young people have a great opportunity to advance and take on senior roles. Beer is stil a cool world to be in. Really get to see how far people can stretch and expand out of their comfort zone. If you like challenges, this could be a place to take them on.

Cons

Not the best place for employees who aren't used to working hard....unless you know how to network with the right cliques. Its about who you know, not necessarily what you do. Canadian Leadership currently in place hides information both from employees and bosses in the US. Company survives inspite of itself because Canadians pay crazy high for alcohol. Compensation is based on short term targets, a negative because risks are taken with short term benefit, but long term negative impact. But no one stays in a role long enough to be held accountable for their mistakes; successors have to inherit it (a risk for any new employee).
