I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at eBay (Salt Lake City, UT) in Sep 2010
Interview
I was contacted on LinkedIn to consider the role. It went rather quickly as they were wanting to fill the role as soon as possible. The group I was joining was in some level need for process and tools updates in order to adopt some best practices.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I had to interview with 9 people from analyst to a VP... that was rather exhausting.
Interview process took almost 2 months before finally getting a rejection last week. It included a screener interview, talking to two different people (several weeks apart), preparing a case study, and presenting the case study to a group.
The process was often longer than 1 week between updates, and ultimately the rejection sent is an automated one after spending weeks of time preparing for interviews, including one interview that was scheduled for the next morning sent out at 3PM the previous day.
The people themselves were great to talk with, but the process was long, grueling, and the time between updates to find out if you were moving on was way too long. The hiring manager informed me that eBay often moved very slow on interviews because of how many high quality candidates they invite to interview for each role.

Question 1
A case study for the role to be sent to a team of people.
I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at eBay (London, England) in Mar 2023
Interview
Multiple rounds, nice people They ask you repeatedly to put a good review on Glassdoor before the interview process is even complete, presumably to rig a good star rating. Took 4 weeks to do all the interviews then waited 3 weeks to hear back that I was unsuccessful, way too long. Zero feedback, just a generic template rejection after all the time invested.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at eBay (San Jose, CA) in Dec 2021
Interview
Quick and well communicated. The process happened just before the holidays so I was surprised art the speed. Your typical interview process in the Covid age, initial screen with recruiter, call with hiring manager, interview panel (one day), call with senior leader, then offer with recruiter.

Question 1
Behavioral questions, thoughts on processes, case study.
