      Product Manager Interview

      Oct 15, 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ZoomInfo

      Interview

Step 1&2: Initial conversation with recruiter was great then I had an interview with the VP I'd be reporting to, which also went pretty well. Step 3: I then had to take a cognitive test (math and English parts) which in my opinion is very unnecessary, the math section was nothing like the sample questions. They were more detailed and didn't have enough time. Step 4: Next was a round of three interviews with 2:2:1 interviewers. Loved the team and interviews were pretty standard. At this point, my understanding was this was the last step. So I was expecting the follow-up call with the recruiter to be around feedback and potentially an offer. However, my application got transferred to a new recruiter who attempted to schedule another set of two interviews 2:1 interviewers. I responded asking what the interview process was considering how many interviews I had already had. She corrected it and said I will now have one more instead of two. Step 5: Interview with potential bosses boss. Went well. Great conversation. Step 6: Recruiter called to ask about my salary expectation. I asked about the compensation structure and provided a range AND mentioned I'm open to negotiation. Couple days passed and I had to follow-up only to be told by the recruiter that they offered someone else the job because what I requested was outside the range. Totally unfair and unprofessional. I wasn't even given a chance to negotiate considering all the great feedback, flexibility and time I invested into the interview process. The least they could have done was come back with a counter and see if I'll accept.

We would like to offer an apology for the experience you had when interviewing with our company. Thank you for the flexibility you showed throughout the longer-than-normal interview process and for your candid response to our compensation expectations. We owed you the courtesy of more discussion around our talent pool and what next steps would look like. Our desire is for every candidate to have an amazing experience with us regardless of the outcome, and clearly that was not the case with your candidacy. We would welcome more feedback so that we can continue to improve. Please feel free to reach out to us at HRfeedback@zoominfo.com.

      Interview

Interview Experience | Positive | Offer Received The whole process was pretty fast. Went from first contact to offer in under two weeks, which was nice. There were about 4 or 5 rounds: HR screen, hiring manager chat, technical assessment, and a culture/behavioral interview. None of it felt like a waste of time. The recruiter was really responsive and kept me in the loop the whole way. No ghosting or long gaps between steps. The interviews themselves felt more like real conversations than interrogations. They asked fair questions and actually let me ask mine too. Everything was straightforward. They were upfront about timelines, gave honest answers about the role, and there were no weird surprises. Good sign for how they probably run things day to day. Interview Tips: Have real examples ready for the behavioral rounds. It's a genuine back-and-forth, so treat it like you're evaluating them too.

      Interview

I had 5 interview rounds in total covering all aspects from design sense, product sense, past work experience, situational based questions and lastly case study round where I had to present to a panel of interviewers. I feel it was very structured to what an enterprise interview selection looks like

      Interview

The process is long and disorganized, with 6 interviews. The recruiter ghosted me for weeks then spammed me repeatedly. I was told twice "this is the last interview". No one seemed to know what was going on nor did they speak to each other so I answered the same questions alot, making it an easy but frustrating process. I have since learned this is just how they do business and know I dodged a bullet. By the time they gave me an offer I had figured out it was not a place I wanted to work and moved on. I am not surprised to see the other negative experiences on here.
