I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2018
Interview
Reached out by a third party recruiter for one of the companies in SF (part of Zillow Group). I responded that I am interested. This was followed by two coding exercises, which I completed and sent the same day.
Now, this is where It got interesting, I was informed they liked my stuff and wanted to move ahead to an ONSITE round without even breaking the ice. Anyway, It was scheduled 2-3 weeks later given the availability of the team
Onsite : Met 5 people including the founder and we discussed the roles and responsibilities since till now we haven't even spoken once. The last round was with manager himself and I liked that how he kept it practical instead of "story telling" examples which companies rely on. Was given a broken system and was asked to trouble shoot it which I successfully did.
Few days later, I received a response saying "they have decided to fill the position internally" which is really really disappointing since it is total waste of time if they were still undecided
