I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA) in Sep 2015
Interview
Got internally referred by someone at the office. Received an email the next day asking me to have a quick phone interview. The phone interview took 15-20 minutes. The guy who interviewed me did not seem very enthusiastic. He asked why I thought I would fit in at Yelp. What I have heard about Yelp. Then he asked me what is my biggest weakness. After I would answer his questions there would be a along awkward silence. Not sure if he was taking notes or just waiting for me to talk more. He told me at the end that they would email me if I was going to be offered an in person interview. I figured I didn't get the second interview at this point.
I applied online. I interviewed at Yelp (Wake Forest, NC)
Interview
Very professional, informative, and timely interview process. I was very impressed with how well put together the entire process was and how fast things moved. Everyone on the hiring team was extremely punctual and even willing to take extra time to make sure all your questions are answered.

The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.
