I had a phone interview. The hiring manager did not show up, but had two system admins take the call. They described scenarios and asked how I would address the issues, They drilled down asking for very specific information. It became apparent they were trying to figure out how I would fix their problems. They even asked for product names when I stated that I would automate a process. There was no further discussion and I was told they decided not to fill the position. I think they were simply getting free consulting via interview.
