      Multiple Positions In Risk Interview

      Dec 25, 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Roseland, NJ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Wells Fargo (Roseland, NJ)

      Interview

The recruiting and interview process was a whirlwind to say the least. I had to separately apply for each role within the Wells Fargo career portal no matter how similar the roles were and interview with a different HR recruiter for each individual role. This process was very time consuming and in my opinion very inefficient. Once I finally got to interview with the hiring manager, I waited with no response or follow-up for weeks even months at a time! In fact, I had waited over two months since I had my discussion with the hiring manager who was referred to me directly from a good friend within Wells Fargo! Even he couldn't get any information as to the status! I even checked in the Wells Fargo Portal and it was still in “Interview” status, whatever that means. I also tried to follow-up with the HR contact buried within the initial email I received to schedule the interview and received an email response indicating he had since left the company and to call an 800# which got me nowhere as well. Is this normally how they treat long time customers and perspective candidates at Wells Fargo? All the time and effort I spent preparing for these interviews and not even to get a response despite the great feedback received and the fact that the referral originated from within Wells Fargo was unbelievable to me. I had to take time off from work, get babysitters to watch over my children, and felt it was all for nothing. If they decided to go with other candidates I get it, but would have been nice to get feedback in some way shape or form especially since I was referred by an internal employee AND I am a long term customer of the Bank. My recruiter reached out to me again recently to apply for yet another role. I told him, however, I am not interested in pursuing any more roles with Wells Fargo at this time given my experiences as referenced above. I still plan to remain a customer of Wells Fargo (for the time being) but I hope that my experience will lead to a refinement of the recruiting process so that qualified candidates like me are treated more fairly throughout the process.
