Interview
I am a current Principal engineer at Mozilla, After informing the recruiter I was a college drop out with 16 years of experience, i was told that Disney requires a degree, but without one they have guidelines for experience. So with no degree the qualifications are as follows: 15 years of experience - non senior engineer 17 years of experience - senior engineer 19 years of experience - lead engineer They say this is for Diversity and Inclusion and that their HR team worked hard on these guidelines. I think this undervalues a good chunk of candidates that have more experience then a 4 year college graduate. For instance I have chased VC funding, managed company finances all while developing scalable software solutions. I would encourage Disney to rethink these numbers and requirements because the best developers I have ever worked with come from Bootcamps and have no degrees or degrees not even in Comp Sci.

Interview
The interview process was standard: manager conversation followed by a LeetCode-style technical round. I enjoyed the overall experience. It felt like a typical big-tech interview. I am currently interviewing here.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walt Disney Company in Nov 2025
Interview
First interview was a screening with a recruiter. She clarified points on my resume and then asked why I wanted to work for Disney.
Second interview was with the hiring manager. We spoke about my past experiences and I was asked about my technical skills.
Third interview was a 1 hour systems engineering focused discussion. I was also asked some coding questions and reviewed code.
Fourth interview was a 2 hour coding interview. The interviewer grabbed a question from hacker rank which we worked through. It was tricky with a lot of edge cases. He then proposed several expanding scenarios which I conceptually problem solved. There was a lot of back and forth.
Overall, I felt the interview process was fair. They genuinely wanted to get a feel for who I was as a person, my experiences, my technical skills, and pick my brain problem solving.

They likely aimed to assess both technical skills and how well you’d fit with the team and company culture. In a comfortable setting, they may have discussed your experience, technical expertise, and approach to problem-solving, as well as offered insights into their own team, projects, and goals. A positive, conversational tone often indicates mutual interest and can allow for a more honest exchange, helping both sides evaluate if it’s a good fit.
