Interviewed for a Contract role. Interview was across two days.
Day 1: Technical questions and some questions on soft skills. Was given a take home assignment.
Day 2: Walkthrough of the submitted assignment and related questions.

Why did you solution the problem this way - questions about data model design etc.
It starts with some basic Java/Springboot/Kafka (producer and consumer etc.) questions, and then use Google docs to write 3 Leetcode questions(Easy to Medium) about String and HashMaps. Took around 40 mins.

I passed all the interviews only to be told at the end that they didn't have the budget. It took about 2 months. It was probably delayed because of budgeting issues.

My interview began with an introductory call with the hiring manager, followed by a technical round led by an engineering lead, who probed system design, coding approach, and problem-solving communication.
