I was blown away by the speed and nimbleness of the process. I happened to have an open day in Silicon valley, called the hiring manager for the role I was interested in and she managed to set up 5 interviews and get things dialed in within 2 days. I went from having a job-in-hand at another company the day before to doing a complete 180 and joining VMware with an option to work remotely. I did have prior knowledge and experience with the company as a consultant so I knew I loved the place and they knew me, but it's still a testament to the 'crank it out/get er done' culture at VMware that this could happen so quickly and seamlessly. On the HR side, I found the recruiting support person (happened to be from Austin, TX) to be incredibly helpful and responsive. She and I were able to have a very open and honest dialogue and I'm happy where I landed.
