Question 1
About my university project. Any prior programming experience.
Scheduled for a phone interview with software engineering manager. Second interview met with a software engineer who quizzed me on all things C#/SQL. The last interview was a panel meeting with a group of software engineering managers and directors.
I applied online. I interviewed at UnitedHealth Group in Sep 2020
Interview
I received multiple emails at once for coding assessments and a "video" interview.
The "video" interview is recording your face while answering questions given by an interview platform call HireVue(their business model is only benefiting employers, they don't care about employees and potential candidates). This is a huge negative as I'm spending hours each day learning new things and practice for interviews, and this company tries to let me record videos just to let them see it for consideration. It's disrespectful.
The coding interview was also a mess considering the way they arrange it. I got two emails with different links for coding assessments. I was advised by HR to only take the test for the full-time position. After checking multiple times in the emails and the assessment site, there is no mentioning of what kind of position it is for. So I took both, just for practice because I already decided not to consider this company as they sent me that "video" interview thing.
The coding assessment is very easy, I took about sessions total of 6 questions, 170 minutes allowed to finish everything, it only took me 50 minutes. So if you decide to give them a chance, no stress for the coding part.
