I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at United Airlines (Houston, TX) in Sep 2015
Interview
Applied online. Received an email to do a video interview with HireVue. Did the video interview then receive an email after few hours inviting me to attend their group information session Houston TX. On my group information session, I arrived an hour earlier than scheduled but that's fine. Make sure NOT TO USE YOUR PHONE once you are there, always be professional even when talking to others I say don't get too comfortable or too stiff. Smile (until it hurts) thats what the flight attendant on my flight to Houston told me when I asked them for any tip.
They give out name tags first before they start. Make sure you pay attention and make good first impression. One girl didn't pay attention and I can say it didnt go so well for her. So they started with a video about United, you can ask questions after the video presentation. Then they started calling 5 people each time to do the one-on-one. The lady who interviewed me is so nice for a moment i felt like i was just talking to my friend. She made me read a passage, then started with situational questions. They inform you how they are gonna conduct the interview and what kind of questions they are going to ask you which is very helpful. After the one-on-one interview the lady asked me if I can wait and stay in the other room with other 4 applicants so their hiring manager can interview me. After a few minutes they called my name, I was in the room with the hiring manager along with other 2 interviewers. I did a panel interview with them, they asked my about my experience and about myself. After a few questions, they gave me the good news. Invited me to attend training next month. They did instruct me to go back to the airport and do medicals before heading back home. I can't wait to attend the training :)
*I marked this interview a difficult interview because my native language is Tagalog, sometimes it is hard for me to express myself in English. Practicing days before the interview really helps build confidence and your fluency in English. For native English speakers, I say interview level average.
What will you do when one passenger doesn't want to turn her laptop on and the doors are already closed, aircraft ready to taxi and take off (scenario)
I applied online. I interviewed at United Airlines (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
First, you have to apply it and submit your application on United website when the flight attendant opposition is opening.
Then, you will get an assessment, kinda like a personality test.
Second, you will be invited to a virtual interview. basically, you need to answer 8 questions and record your answers. You have 3 attempts to record it.
Completed the assessment and attended the optional Q&A teams meeting , I am now awaiting the virtual face to face . It’s been almost a month of waiting however in the Q&A meeting they mentioned that it can take some time possibly towards the end of summer .
It started with the Assessment, followed by 8 video questions, and then the video interview. The in person final interview I am waiting for. They said I would know in 2-5 business days.
