Im currently employed as a nurse changing my career to Flight Attendant. The jobs are parallel to each other and assume same responsibilities.
I applied and submitted my resumes with cover letter April 25, 2016. I received notification the following day my resume was submitted for review. On the 27th I was notified I was selected to do a video interview via "hirevue". You have five days to submit.
I studied here on glassdoor the frequently asked interview questions, and they are very similar and helpful. Also took on others advice, however did my own check as far as reliability of some statements about United, I did find errors. I suggest to read wikipedia about United, as well as their corporate site and vision.
To prepare for video interview. I researched United, its mission, and history. I wrote down all the questions that are available for you to find on this site, wrote them down, and answered and practiced answers. Focus on positive answers, customer service and safety.
When ready to video interview, be sure you have correct working equipment ( I used my MAC PC ), have good lighting, dress professionally, and do practice questions. It was awkward for me ...the video interview, make sure not to look at yourself but do at camera.
I have submitted my video interviewFriday evening April 29th 2016, I hope for the offer to move to the next step, remain positive, and if no offer, appreciate the experience and move forward!
I shall keep you posted.
