I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (El Segundo, CA) in May 2024
Interview
Received an interview invitation a week after applying. The first in-person interview went great and I hit it off with the assistant manager, he had a great personality. The second interview was in person with a with female manager who immediately seemed very judgmental and unfriendly. Her body language gave extremely disinterested and she had very condescending feedback after my responses. I withdrew my application in the parking lot, assuming she reflects company culture. I may have caught her on a bad day because she immediately asked me if I was interested in the brow bar position and that the spot would be available soon with a cold tone. She also exaggerated the size of the store and couldn't seem to believe that I'd be able to clean it. Which is extremely comical because it's the smallest Ulta Beauty store I have ever been to. I have so much experience and talent that I'd rather apply it somewhere else. I have always wanted to work at Ulta Beauty until this interview process. Disappointed.

I applied online. I interviewed at Ulta Beauty (New York, NY)
Interview
It was a group interview and it took like an hour since it was around 8-10 people but very few questions were asked. I got an offer later that day and started working pretty soon.

"Tell me about yourself", your work experience, why Ulta and a scenario question
They briefly go over your resume and ask for your availability. They're usually looking for employees with full to almost full availability around the holiday season. Overall, it wasn't too difficult. Maybe mention your interests in cosmetics.

Question 1
What is your availability for this upcoming season?
There were 5 of us in a room & they did like a "round robin" interview. Asking a question & then wanting everyone to respond. I was not impressed. What ever happened to a one on one interview?
