      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Uline (Milton, ON) in Jun 2022

      Interview

The interview process itself wasn't bad. Applied online and got a request for a phone interview. It wasn't really an interview. The recruiter basically just asked which Friday I can go in for an in-person interview. (Was pretty much a job fair) Had to complete 2 online tests online before the interview. When I got there, they sit you down in the warehouse with a group and do 2 more assessments. (Wasn't hard but they want to test your speed and accuracy with numbers) Afterwards they interview you with absolutely no privacy. Everyone else is getting interviewed in the same area with no dividers or walls. There weren't really any challenging questions. It was mostly just talking about my current role. The 1st sales manager I spoke with, he was great.. but there were some red flags about the job itself. I read online reviews before the interview about the job and how it was very micromanaged.. and it's definitely true. He asked how I felt about feedback and criticism from management.. and it was one of the few questions he asked me that wasnt related to my job experience. I'm guessing he was gauging how I would react to being micromanaged. I also mentioned I had kids, and the 1st thing he said to me was "you can't pick them up from school". I currently don't pick them up from school, but that reaction was definitely a red flag. The 2nd manager was very young, and the way he was interviewing I could tell he wasn't an experienced sales rep. The job itself seemed like a very demanding order taker than an actual sales rep. You don't make or keep relationships with any clients. On Mondays, you get to Milton by 7:30am and make calls all day to setup 6 meetings each day of the week. Meetings have to be set for 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am, 1pm, 2pm. After your last meeting they expect you to go home and do quotes, CRM notes, etc. There is no flexibility on meeting times. You're calling on people that already use Uline, so you're just going in to see what they're not buying and upsell. You see each client max once a year. Your business card doesn't even have your personal phone number. A client can't reach you. Your business card only has the main line so that an inside sales rep. can work with them. This is why this job has no commissions or real bonus structure. You aren't selling. A couple days later, I got an email saying I wasn't a good fit and I definitely agree. I have 10 years of outside sales experience and I'd go crazy by being micromanaged with this sales structure. A good thing about the interview process is that they are very transparent with the job. You know exactly what the job is, and how much you will be micromanaged.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Uline (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2026

      Interview

I applied for a professional role and the entire experience — from submitting my application to withdrawing from the process — occurred in approximately three hours. Within about an hour of applying, I received a brief phone call that was strictly to schedule an interview. There was no real discussion about the role, expectations, compensation range, or what the company offers. When I asked about pay, I was told it “depends.” Within minutes of that call, I was sent multiple links requiring extensive paperwork, consent forms, and assessments. Candidates are instructed to print and complete a full application (with no sections left blank, including salary history) and physically bring it to the interview, or arrive early to complete it on-site. This was required despite the fact that I had already completed an online application and submitted a detailed, professional resume. The speed at which the process escalated, combined with the volume of duplicative requirements and lack of compensation transparency, felt overwhelming and outdated. All of this was required before any meaningful conversation about role alignment. After reviewing the expectations, I chose to withdraw from the process.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Uline (Vancouver, BC) in Jul 2024

      Interview

Email invitation for an online interview: The interview was absolutely standard, with questions that seemed to be read from a script. It showed little interest in my personality or unique experiences. It sounded like the HR person was sitting in a call center. I was also asked to sign a form, which included the contacts of previous supervisors.

A lot of tedious tests to do before the phone interview that took me a long time to finish. Asked random questions that do not flow into each other. overall not a very pleasant experience
