      Product Marketing Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Twilio (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2011

      Interview

Twilio is one of those companies where they want you to think that their company is "hip", their people are "cool" and if you don't work there, it's your loss. When I saw the job description, I thought it would be an interesting company to work with so I applied. After what seemed like an eternity, I got a brief e-mail from their recruiter saying she wanted to speak with me. We set up a time to talk and went from there. I knew it was going to be a bad sign when she was late for the interview. When she called me, she sounded like she was drunk, buzzed or on something, but I let it go. After a brief conversation, she asked me a couple of standard interview questions and told me that she'd get back to me regarding next steps. The next day I got an email from her tersely saying that they thought I wasn't a good fit. Given my conversation with her, I was glad I wasn't a fit because if the recruiter represented the type of person they wanted at their company, there is no way I would ever consider working with them.
