      Claims Adjuster Trainee- Auto Interview

      Apr 14, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Travelers in Feb 2016

      Interview

Over all the process was extremely negative. This is an entry level position in claims, I have over 3 years of experience. For starters the whole process took literally 6 hours. From 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM in the same day. I was so exhausted mentally and emotionally and feeling completely defeated by the time I left I was just relieved to be driving out of the parking lot never to return. I received a call from a recruiter for a phone screening, she asked me to attend a career fair interview where I could "get everything done at once". So I agreed. I actually had to take the day off work from my current job to do this (the only reason I did was because the pay was literally double my current salary). So the day came around for my interview, the first interview I had was held at a hotel across from the Travelers building. I walked in and there are tons of business dressed (mostly men) standing around, some are in travelers clothes. The interview went well, lasted about 30 minutes he asked me questions about my experience and he asked me several questions about claims. He invited me to take their assessment. So I had to wait till 11 to take it because that is when they were administering the next one. So I waited about an hour and drove over to the travelers building to take it. I went into a class room with about 20 other applicants, they sat us down gave us a pencil and a piece of paper with an answer key on it and this rude pushy lady told us that the test would take 3 1/2 to 4 hours... It has 8 sections, you have to pass all 8 sections, (it must be common not to because they warn you that you can take the sections you failed again if you fail if another position comes up). There is a lot reading, 1 math section, there are claims sections (if you have no prior experience in claims, you can forget it, mind you this is an entry level position, but whatever). Each section is timed. You have less than a minute to answer each question. Ex: 20 minutes to take a 30 question test. The sections get longer as you go on. There is also part that is administered on the computer where you have to type a denial letter, which is easy. So after 4 hours I learn I did not pass all sections, so they called me name and manager literally walked me out of the building into the lobby where the elevators were and shut the door behind me, left me standing there stunned mainly because I had wasted personal day at work in hopes of a promising job and been defeated. They also told us prior to taking the test that assuming we passed we would move on to the next step which is yet another interview (we are going on 3 interviews now) which was more formal where we would interview with the managers. So even passing the test and the two previous interviews does not guarantee anything, then I assume they'd probably want to do a background check too. :(

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Travelers in Sep 2023

      Interview

Application, assessment, phone interview, and zoom interview. The assessment was one of the more complicated ones I’ve taken. Phone interview was exactly 30 minutes. Reviewing the position, your knowledge on company and position, and then just a couple behavioral based questions.. tell me a time when you provided great customer service.. then you will be scheduled for a zoom interview with two managers and two VP’s. My interview was one hour and 45 mins! With the first part being with the managers and second part with the VP’s. The managers provide insight on the job and ask several long behavior based questions. Once you interview with the VP it’s more personable and pretty simple.. it took a week to receive the offer and they offered the higher compensation compared to other insurance adjuster positions I had interviewed for. The feedback on the workplace seems great and there is an auto promotion from trainee, so it’s a great opportunity! Btw all of the travelers employees I’ve interacted with were super nice!

The interview process was very pleasant. All of the interviewers were knowledgeable in the department and were eager to answer all of my questions. They were all very nice and it was clear that they take pride in their careers and company.

      Application

I interviewed at Travelers (Lake Oswego, OR) in Jun 2018

      Interview

Interviewed with hiring managers and thought it went great. I was told by managers that I would have a peer interview next. While I waited for the peer interview to be scheduled, I received a form email from Brassring saying I was no longer considered for job. I asked recruiter for feedback as to why and received nothing. I am very disappointed in my treatment. Why would they say I was having a peer interview and then discount me with no feedback? Seems very fake to act that way if I wasn’t continuing. Job is still open. Very disappointing and disrespectful.
