I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tableau Software (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2015
Interview
I first received an email on a Wednesday from a recruiter saying they reviewed my resume and that I was a potential fit. We scheduled a phone interview for Friday with the same recruiter. The phone interview went really well and lasted about 25 minutes.
I received an email Monday saying they would like to schedule a second phone interview with the director of visual design. We scheduled the interview for Wednesday morning.
The second phone interview lasted all of nine minutes. The interviewer was short, not very personable, and seemed like she was preoccupied. At the end of the nine minutes she did say that she would like to schedule an on-site interview and that she would have the recruiter contact me to set up a date.
Thursday morning I received an email from the recruiter saying "it was a difficult decision, but they are moving forward with alternate candidates."
I would have appreciated a more forward response in the phone interview. If they were not interested in continuing the interview process they should have just said so. That's not right to say one thing and then turn around and do another. Unless, that is how you run the business as well. If that's the case, I'm glad I didn't get the job.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tableau Software (Seattle, WA) in Aug 2015
Interview
i submitted my resume and cover letter and online application with an employee referral. Received an email from a recruiter two days later. Then before I could set up a time to chat I was told the job was filled. We set up a time to chat about future opportunities but it was mostly informative about Tableau and asking about my skill levels. I thought it went well as I was happy about the future but I was told a week later they were moving in a different direction.
