      Trading Risk Services Associate Interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at TD (Toronto, ON)

      Interview

I applied to their summer program during 3rd year of university and got an email to schedule an interview through campus careers services about 2 weeks afterwards. It was two back to back interviews - one with two reps from the program and one with the hr manager. The first interview ran more like a conversation where the two reps introduced the job to me, we went through my resume, and then talked about TD opportunities and culture, and business life in general. They seemed to really love their job, and were genuinely interested in our conversations, and we got along famously. I had been a bit wary about interviewing for a whole hour, but since it wasn't formal at all, time passed easily. (This is the interaction that to this day has me wanting to work at TD in the future). The second interview with HR was meant to be much shorter - just half an hour, which went terribly. She asked me a set of basic questions and seemed completely uninterested in my responses - she transcribed everything I said on her worksheet, and I know I shouldn't have been distracted by it, but I was, and it threw me off. I ended this interview in less than 15 minutes, and suffice it to say that I didn't get the job.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

None of the questions were very hard. Basic questions like: why TD, why this position, what can you bring to the table, example of a time when you effectively managed conflict, etc.
