      Bilingual Customer Service Representative Interview

      May 11, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Ottawa, ON
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TD (Ottawa, ON) in May 2018

      Interview

I was interviewed in May 2018 at the Ottawa call center. Very unprofessional. Applied through the TD career site. Was asked to do a simulation. Couple days later recieved a call from the recruiter where a phone interview was held. Interview was fine and easy. Mainly goes over the roll and describes the job itself. Was told I would be sent an email for further instructions on the face-to-face interview but email was never sent. Missed the interview and was claimed my fault for now showing up. After complaining the recruiter calls and apologizes, reschedules interview. Finally interviewed at the call center where a presentation was held for 5-6 candidates. A scenario is given of a customer service issue, must come up with ideas within the group on how to handle the situation. While all this, they take 1 on 1 candidates for interviews with the hiring managers. Managers were unprofessional, even when explained that my French speaking needed some practice due to not speaking it for 10 months (entered university), they didn't care. Hiring process takes 30 days anyways... Tried showing them my DELF B2 certificate from the Ministry of France, was told "I don't care about that, any certificate can be paid for"??? felt like I was insulted!! Managers gave no emotions and were unimpressed with everything I said despite my deep research and presenting ways on growing business. At the end you present your scenario with your group. Advice, tell them what they want to hear and you'll get hired. Don't mention school or anything that can interfere with the job. Go along with them and you should be fine.
